Fellowships at the DFKThe German Forum for Art History defines itself as a research institution that supports the work of international junior researchers. These fellowships are for the most part one-year research grants. The selection corresponds with an overarching research theme. The annual themes are supervised by internationally renowned scholars. The yearlong fellowship allows advanced junior researchers to finish their dissertation or to conduct research on a post-doctoral project while working in collaboration with a group of international fellows. The fellows are given the opportunity to present their research first as a lecture and then at a final colloquium. The DFK, often in collaboration with French institutions, also provides funding for individual research projects. Besides focusing on the specific individual research, we encourage an engagement with the host country's different academic traditions and methodologies. Excursions The DFK organises excursions in both Germany and France. Conceived as theme-based events these excursions address both French and German students. The intention is to further the understanding of art and the history of art through the active exploration of locations of particular artistic interest in either France or Germany. |
