Annual Fellowships Every year the German Forum for Art History gives out up to six fellowships (August-July) in relation to an annual theme determined by the director upon consultation with the scientific committee. The grants address particularly doctoral and post-doctoral students in art history who have started a research project or are in the process of finishing their dissertation. While the fellowships are mainly intended for French and German junior researchers, we explicitly encourage candidates of all nationalities to apply. The fellowships give the opportunity to engage in more general art historical questions that extend beyond the scope of one's individual research. The fellows will work in an international environment with the support of usually two prominent scholars, one coming from Germany, the other from France. The research year concludes with an international colloquium and the publication of the results.
With regards to the annual theme 2009/2010 "Poiesis: Doing and Making in the arts", the DFK awards research fellowships and one habilitation fellowship. Concerning the thematic details and the application process please visit the link Annual Fellowships on the page "Research." |
